Pricing and Cancellations

Your health, wellbeing, and self care is worth investing in. Whether it is physio or dentist appointments, gym memberships, fresh fruit and vege, social nights out, a massage, or a session with us, the cost of self care or early health interventions are far cheaper than the price of doing nothing.

The average Aussie saves $9,000-$23,000 engaging in early psychology sessions, even when compared to medical interventions. Early intervention: reduces treatment length, reduces treatment intensity, reduces wider impact (e.g. losing income, ending relationships, failing studies), reduces relapses, reduces probability of other serious issues in the future. You are worth it – start now! 💚💛

Why is pricing lower?

The AAPI and APS Recommend $330 (2025-2026), $315 (2024-2025), $300 (2023-2024) for standard sessions.

Our standard sessions are $205.

Everyone Psychology offers telehealth and online coaching. The cost of face-to-face services includes expenses such as leasing office space. We pass on our savings to you, and it helps to keep our sessions accessible.

If you would like a face to face session, we offer these at +$90/session to cover actual expenses. We currently offer both room hire and walk-and-talk in Chermside (QLD) and surrounding suburbs. If you arrange room hire (est. $45-90), parking, etc – then our standard rates apply. We also offer face to face sessions at your office or workplace – contact us to discuss.

Everyone Psychology offers you autonomy. Our clients are prompt in providing referrals and MHTP, complete digital intake forms, and book their own sessions online. Reducing our administration time passes more savings on to you. The free Halaxy portal (optional) offers additional features e.g. easily reschedule your sessions, auto debit payments, and receive email/text reminders.

If you are unable to complete your consent forms, referral and MHTP, online before your initial session, we can do it for you, for a one-off administration fee of up to $55.

Financial hardship and bulk billing

Free crisis services are available via Government funding.

Government agencies and charities receive public funding to support clients seeking this option. We don’t receive public funding to operate our business.

Our operating costs make lower pricing unfeasible. Our rates enable us to keep the lights on, and keep providing you with quality services, and availability after hours and weekends.

Everyone Psychology cannot bulk-bill due to insufficient funding by Medicare:

Bulk-billing psychologists earn $12-20 / hour after expenses; the Australian minimum wage is $23 / hour.

Medicare rebates $96.65 per 50 minutes for psychology. By comparison, a GP Standard Consultation receives Medicare rebate ($41.20 per 10 minutes), equating to $206.00 per 50 minutes of consultations. The AAPI and APS National Recommendation per 45-60 minutes of psychology: $315 (2024-2025), $300 (2023-2024), $280 (2022-2023), $267 (2021-2022), $260 (2020-2021), $254 (2019-2020). Psychologists have 6+ years of tertiary education and often $80,000-$100,00 in HECS debt. Psychologists are valuable AHPRA registered and experienced practitioners who have 6+ years tertiary education. We will continue to advocate for parity in Medicare rebates, and holistic healthcare for both body and mind.

Are there cancellation or reschedule fees?

Our policies are designed to respect other clients, and our team’s time and dedication – a missed session is a lost opportunity for others. Please provide as much notice as possible when cancelling or rescheduling sessions.

Cancellations are rare. Cancellation fees are rarer, because our clients provide us with as much notice as possible.

Some third-party funds (e.g. WorkSafe, Medicare) do NOT fund or rebate ‘no shows’ or cancellations.

If you were incapacitated, and you can provide us with your hospital discharge summary (or similar) we will reduce or waive your cancellation fee.

You have FOUR ways to cancel a session: through the Halaxy portal, through the ‘booking confirmation’ email link, email, or text message. You WILL receive confirmation that your session was cancelled – if you don’t receive confirmation, then it wasn’t cancelled, and you MUST use other methods to contact us.

Rescheduling and cancellation fee examples:

Jane Doe emailed Admin with a medical certificate stating she had laryngitis (difficulty speaking), and would prefer to reschedule. The email was sent on Sunday (around 48 hours notice), read by Admin on Monday morning, and Jane’s session was Tuesday morning (around 21 hours notice). Admin emailed Jane to confirm the cancellation was received, and the cancellation fee waived in recognition of notification effort made by Jane over the weekend.

John Doe called Admin three hours before his session. Admin confirmed that the late cancellation fee was up to 100% of the session fee, unless a waitlisted person was available. John said he had a last minute meeting work scheduled, and would prefer not to attend. Admin could not find another person on the waitlist able to take the spot. Admin emailed John to confirm the cancellation fee. John spoke on the phone for around half the session time, and the psychologist also emailed John some resources. John paid the full session price.

Jac Doe did not join the online session meeting, and did not respond to phone calls or emails. Jac’s session was Monday afternoon. Jac emailed Admin after hours on Monday that they didn’t feel well and went home before the end of work. When Admin called them on Tuesday to respond to their email, Jac couldn’t talk because they were already back at work. Jac could not provide a medical certificate. Jac had reliable phone and internet during and before their session time, and was reasonably able to provide notice of non-attendance, or attend via telehealth for part of the session. Jac paid the ‘no show’ missed session fee, 100% of the session pricing.

Jill Doe called Admin around 1pm on Tuesday, about her 10am Wednesday session (around 21 hours notice). Jill was concerned about a cancellation fee, but really needed to reschedule to see a psychiatrist. Admin confirmed that the late cancellation fee was up to 75% of the session fee. Admin confirmed that the psychiatrist was a priority and noticed that Jill had never missed or cancelled a session before. The Psychologist and Admin agreed to waive the rescheduling fee as a one-off gesture of goodwill, because Jill was willing to reschedule to Thursday at 10am. Admin emailed Jill to confirm the new time.
