Couples Counselling
Whether you’re worried about your relationship, or just looking for a quick tune-up, we can help.
It can feel overwhelming or even anxiety-inducing to book a session, even if you’ve tried counselling before. It’s normal to feel a bit apprehensive, and we’ll do everything we can to support you. Finding the courage to reach out is the hardest part, promise! We’re devoted to helping people grow and nourish loving relationships. Our approach is based on evidence-based research, and we believe that no relationship is beyond repair when all parties are willing to be involved in change for the better. As a team, you and your psychologist will identify what you want to change and help you to learn strategies to create a mutually beneficial and rewarding relationship.
We incorporate the Gottman Method approach to counselling when working with couples and ENM partners. Drs Gottman are famous for being able to predict divorce, with 94% accuracy, by observing couples for just 10 minutes. For a brief analysis of relationship health, try the virtual Gottman Assessment evaluation tool and learn to avoid ‘the four horsemen’ of the relationship apocalypse!
Our approach is broad, but you can expect to learn how to: disarm yourself and your partner during an argument, improve empathy and understanding of your partner, reduce or eliminate barriers, embrace practical strategies for better connection and communication, and increase intimacy, respect, and affection.

Family Counselling
Family counselling can be helpful when there is something that affects the whole family. It might be something that affects everyone differently, or not.
You might be the person struggling, or you might be the person supporting the person who is struggling. We can support and offer help for: communication difficulties, self-harm and NSSI, interpersonal conflict, behavioural difficulties, navigating chronic illness or disability, recent trauma, and substance use.
Family counselling may help you with navigating life stage changes or transition, such as difficulties with blended families, cultural or gender identity, death, separation, or custody. We also offer pre/post natal support, and parenting coaching, counselling and support – we also recommend you routinely access the free information and resources on raisingchildren.net.au and (for young infants) Tresillian.

Relationship and Dating Coaching
Let’s be blunt, love can be complicated. Working with a qualified psychologist as a dating coach or love coach can be beneficial for many reasons. Our relationship coaching approach is based on evidence-based research in positive psychology, years of studies on happiness, successful relationships and effective reflective practices.
- If any of these sound like you, our relationship and dating coaching services might be helpful for you:
- Trying to find a partner?
- You’ve found the right person and you want to keep them?
- Fears or difficulties with trust, intimacy or commitment?
- Seem to be ‘stuck’ dating the same type of person and you want a change?
- Trying to heal after a difficult break-up?
- Wanting to end a relationship on good terms?
- Struggling with your relationships and you don’t know why?
- Arguing or fighting with family, friends, co-workers on a regular basis?
- Wanting to communicate better with your co-parent?
- Is your partner hesitant to do couples/family counselling but you really want some advice?
- Looking for a love coach?
Our approach is broad, but you can expect that relationship or dating coaching may help you to: feel more at ease with being yourself, feel more at ease with your past dating history, communicate more effectively with future or past partners, improve empathy and understanding of others, disagree respectfully, emotion and anger management, and gain insight into the type of partner you are looking for.
